Announcing Two New Events

16th October 2012: The Enterprise Centre,
Derby
Tackling congestion is one of the biggest challenges facing the
traffic and transport sectors in the UK. How local authorities
manage this and carbon and energy reduction as a result of the
intense build-up of traffic on the road network over the last 20
years will be crucial to making improvements in the future.
A new mindset is needed to address transport emissions and the
changing role of the traffic manager at a time when the Carbon
Reduction Commitment Scheme is at the forefront of every local
agenda.

13th November 2012: 15 Hatfields, London
Surveyor, in association with leading bodies such as Sustrans
and ADEPT, is proud to announce this one-day conference and
exhibition, designed to engage debate on the future of sustainable
transport.
In recent years local authorities have been charged with
implementing sustainable transport initiatives in order to reduce
congestion and pollution in their local areas, and help the UK
reach its legally binding climate change targets.
Despite carbon from surface transport being accountable for almost
a quarter of all the nation's emissions, and levels still being on
the rise, the economic downturn posed a threat to these
efforts.
However, the local transport minister, Norman Baker, indicated his
ambition to support this agenda by establishing the Local
Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF).
This conference will examine LSTF projects given funding by the
Government as well as looking at the part active travel is
currently playing and how behaviour change fits in to the agenda.
Speakers will also debate how the local transport funding arena is
changing and what this means for the sector.
